The star Celine Dion made a surprise appearance in the final minutes of the Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday to announce Taylor Swift as the winner of Album of the Year.

This appearance of the 5-time Grammy winner came after she had stayed out of the spotlight since December 2022 following her struggle with Stiff Person Syndrome - a neurological disorder that gradually affects the brain and spinal cord.

As soon as she took the stage, Dion received warm applause from the audience at the ceremony, and her appearance was accompanied by the global star Taylor Swift singing the song "The Power of Love".

Dion presented the Album of the Year award to Swift for her album "Midnights," marking the fourth time in her history winning this award.

In a brief speech before handing over the award, Dion said: "Thank you all! I love you too," and continued, "You look beautiful, when I say I am happy to be here, I truly mean it with all my heart."

She added: "Those lucky enough to attend the Grammy Awards ceremony should not take for granted the immense love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people all around the world."

Celine Dion's elder sister Claudette recently stated that the legendary Canadian singer has lost control over her muscles.

This statement came a year after she canceled her world tour, as her 74-year-old sister pointed out that returning to the stage could take a long time after her battle with a neurological disorder known as Stiff Person Syndrome, adding that she is working hard but has lost control over her muscles.

The star revealed her diagnosis for the first time in December 2022 through an emotional Instagram post, and months later she canceled her world tour, which was scheduled to start at the end of 2023.

In September, a video appeared on YouTube titled "Celine Dion's family reveals how she is dying," in which she says her incurable disease "is progressing very quickly." Since then, the video has been reposted on TikTok, where it garnered over 430,000 views. The clip sparked rumors on social media that the artist now relies on a wheelchair and struggles to move.

However, Celine Dion's sister denied these claims, telling the French-speaking site showbizz.net: "I know she is morally and mentally strong. She is not depressed at all... She really has a zest for life. We will get through this."

Regarding the rumors, Claudette said: "Why do they say she is in a wheelchair? Why do they say she has cancer? Why do they make things up?"
