The Regional Disaster Management Authority in Pakistan announced that the total number of people affected by the successive floods resulting from heavy rains in Sindh province reached 4.9 million, in addition to 648,621 homes.
The authority - in a report assessing the situation between last June 20 and August 25, published by the Pakistani newspaper (Dawn) - indicated that the floods in Sindh province resulted in the displacement of 1.67 million people in the upper and lower areas of the province, while the death cases reached 339, and 974 people were injured in the same province.
It clarified that the floods led to the death of more than 98,000 livestock, completely destroyed 191,000 homes, and partially destroyed 395,000 homes, in addition to 2.72 million acres of crops becoming damaged.
