Four teenagers were killed in a collision near Gilbert Plains in Manitoba on Wednesday night.

The Dauphin RCMP police said they received numerous calls about a collision between a car and a truck at the intersection of Highway 5 and Provincial Road 274, around 10:50 PM.

Investigators also reported that the car carrying five teenagers, all from the Dauphin area, was heading north on Provincial Road 274, heading to the town of Gilbert Plains.

The police explained that the car failed to stop at the sign that requires it at the intersection of Highway 5, where the truck was traveling east on that highway, then quickly collided with the truck.

The 18-year-old driver and two 17-year-olds were declared dead at the scene, while an 18-year-old young woman was transferred to the hospital, where she died from her injuries, and a 15-year-old girl remains in the hospital with serious injuries.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old man driving the truck was unharmed in the accident.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are still investigating the accident.
