The United Arab Emirates anticipated US President Joe Biden's visit to the region by announcing its position on the regional military alliance with Israel.

American media revealed efforts by the Joe Biden administration to establish this alliance to confront Iran.

Also, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz announced a few days ago that “Israel is building what he called the Middle East Air Defense Alliance led by America.”

Gantz mentioned that Washington is working to persuade Gulf countries to join this alliance.

The Reuters news agency also quoted a Western diplomat saying that “the air defense alliance proposal will fill the gap left by the withdrawal of American equipment from the region.”

The New York Times confirmed that the Israeli government asserts it is part of a partnership in a regional military alliance.

It indicated that this alliance will be with some Arab governments to combat the threats of Iran.

The widely circulated newspaper mentioned that this step comes as part of reevaluating alliances in the Middle East.

Today, the American Wall Street Journal revealed a meeting between American military officials with their counterparts from Israel and Arab countries.

It indicated that the meeting took place last March in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

However, the UAE government issued a statement regarding the arrangements prior to Joe Biden’s visit to the region.

The Wall Street Journal quoted an Emirati government statement saying, “We are not a party to any regional military alliance or cooperation targeting any specific country.”

The Emirati government statement added, “We are not aware of any official discussions related to any regional military alliance.”

Meanwhile, the New York Times quoted Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz saying he will announce the details during Joe Biden’s visit to the region.

He indicated that “Israel is building what he called the Middle East Air Defense Alliance led by America.”

Gantz mentioned that the Biden administration is working to persuade Gulf countries to join this alliance.
