Calgary - IBM Canada said it will establish the new Client Innovation center in Western Canada in downtown Calgary.

On the other hand, the company said its announcement will create 250 new jobs in the city's technology sector.

On the same subject, IBM announced that its center will provide consulting services and technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, hybrid cloud, and blockchain.

The focus will be on helping business clients use technology to achieve sustainability and net-zero environmental goals.

The Calgary Investment Opportunities Fund, an economic development fund owned by the city, will contribute up to $5 million to establish the center.

It is worth noting that Calgary has witnessed significant growth in the technology sector in recent years as the city works to diversify its oil and gas-based economy.
