Britain, the United States, Canada, and Japan will ban the import of Russian gold as part of new sanctions on Moscow in response to its war on Ukraine, the British government announced on Sunday on the first day of the G7 summit.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who is meeting with leaders of the major industrial countries in Germany for three days, said, "These measures will directly hit the wealthy Russian power players and target the heart of Putin's war machine."
