The Ministry of Citizens' Services in Canada has announced new developments in the dental care sector; Terry Beach, the Minister of Citizens' Services, stated that 1,200 seniors have already visited a dentist, and their requests have been reviewed, processing their claims through the new dental care program launched by the federal government.
Beach confirmed that nearly one million seniors have received their benefits card, and they are eligible to submit claims under this program starting today. He noted that the program was designed as part of a collaborative political agreement between the Liberals and the New Democrats.
The program must be available to anyone without private insurance and with a family income of less than $90,000.
The government already resumed registering seniors at the end of last year, and children under the age of 18, as well as those receiving a disability tax exemption, will be eligible to register within the next month.
It is worth noting that Health Canada has stated that 6,500 oral health service providers, including dentists and dental hygienists, have registered to provide care to patients enrolled in the federal dental program.
