The Canadian government has announced the addition of 324 types of firearms to the prohibited weapons list, bringing the total number to more than 2000 types. The decision includes around 14,500 weapons, and the transfer of firearms to Ukraine will be permitted to support it in the context of the war against Russia, under specific conditions. Additionally, firearm owners have received legal protection until 2025 and compensation through the buyback of firearms.
The new ban comes as part of Canada’s support for Ukraine and its commitment to provide it with weapons that meet NATO standards.
