The Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Friday, additional measures to ban the import of Russian diamonds.
The ban prevents citizens in Canada from importing, purchasing, or obtaining unclassified diamonds from Russia.
Canadian authorities have previously imposed a ban on the export of goods that can be used for weapon production to Russia.
The ban affects 20 "specifically controlled goods," which, according to Canada, are already used in Russia for weapon manufacturing.
