Hebrew sources stated today, Friday, that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to visit Israel at the beginning of next week, against the backdrop of the failure to reach an agreement that leads to the release of prisoners and the end of the war.

The Hebrew newspaper "Israel Hayom" reported that this visit will be Blinken's eighth to Israel since the outbreak of the war, with his last visit to Tel Aviv in March, in an attempt to prevent a large-scale operation in Rafah, according to the "Ma'an" news agency.

Blinken is expected to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately upon his arrival in Israel, and no other meetings have been announced so far.

The US administration is investing all its efforts to reach an agreement that would extinguish the war in the Gaza Strip and on the Lebanese border, at least until the US elections next November.

This current visit by Blinken comes at a time when, for the first time, ministers from the "State Camp" are not expected to be part of the government and will not participate in meetings of the war cabinet.

In his previous visits, Blinken was keen to meet with Gantz separately, and the dynamics of the current visit are sure to generate interest as the administration considered him a positive element in the government, according to "Ma'an".
