Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu confirmed today, Wednesday, August 17, 2022, that Turkey "will not abandon the Palestinian cause" despite the resumption of full diplomatic relations with Israel.
Çavuşoğlu said in a press conference: "We will not abandon the Palestinian cause," after Israel announced the full restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the return of the ambassadors who were recalled in 2018 following the killing of Palestinian protesters in Gaza.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid announced earlier today that Turkey and Israel are fully resuming diplomatic relations following a phone call between Lapid and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
