The Court of Arbitration for Sport rejected the appeal of the Canadian women's national team against the penalty of deducting points from their total in the football competitions at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Canadian Olympic Committee had filed an appeal against the decision of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) to deduct 6 points from the Canadian women's national team in the Paris 2024 Olympics, but the appeal was dismissed.

FIFA had announced a deduction of 6 points from the Canadian women's football team participating in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris due to spying on the training of the New Zealand national team.

The Canadian women's team spied on the training of their rival, the New Zealand team, before the teams faced each other in the Paris Olympics using a drone.

FIFA decided to deduct 6 points from the Canadian women's national team and fined the Canadian federation 200,000 Swiss francs.

According to the BBC, the Canadian federation decided to appeal against the points deduction penalty but did not file any appeal against the coach's suspension.

The Canadian federation requested a review of the penalty, either to reduce it or to cancel the points deduction.

The Canadian team currently occupies the third place in their group with no points, despite winning their first two matches against France and New Zealand.

The Canadian team has one match remaining against the group leader, Colombia.
