Almost all of Alberta had received warnings about the extreme cold early Tuesday morning, as wind chill contributed to lowering temperatures to -40 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the Canadian Ministry of the Environment issued a statement at 7:30 AM in which it considered that "extreme cold puts everyone at risk."
The ministry also pointed out that the weather may become colder in some northern areas of the province, with temperatures expected to reach -50 degrees Celsius.
