The Canadian government eased its COVID-19 entry rules today, Monday, as the country enters spring and restrictions are relaxed across the country.

Ottawa lifted many travel-related measures today, Monday, as many Canadians are likely seeking trips abroad for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

As of 12:01 a.m., unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children aged 5 to 11 traveling with a fully vaccinated parent no longer need to complete a COVID-19 test before entering Canada.

Ottawa said last Friday that pre-entry tests are required for partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travelers 12 years of age or older who are currently eligible to travel to Canada.

Earlier this year, Ottawa decided to cancel pre-arrival testing requirements for fully vaccinated travelers. Fully vaccinated travelers and children aged 5 to 11 no longer need to present a quarantine plan upon entering Canada.

Additionally, the federal government will no longer require fully vaccinated travelers entering Canada to wear masks in public places. The government added that all travelers, regardless of vaccination status, must continue to wear masks throughout their entire trip.
