The U.S. stock indices recorded a sharp decline at the opening of the first sessions of the week on Monday, with the benchmark indices at the following levels 12 minutes after the session opened:
The S&P 500 index recorded a level of 5,732.98 points, with a decrease of 0.31%.
The NASDAQ Composite fell by about 0.45%, or lost approximately 81.24 points, reaching 18,056.61 points.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average stabilized near the level of 42,250.54 points, losing approximately 102.21 points after the opening.
The U.S. stock market closed last week's trading with a significant rise for all benchmark indices, as the Dow Jones increased by 341.16 points to settle at 42,352.75 after the U.S. market closed.
Also, the S&P 500 ended the previous session up by 0.81%, closing the trades at a level of 5,751.06 points, while the NASDAQ technology index jumped to record 20,035.02 points at the end of last week's trading.
