American officials told NBC News that Israel has identified its targets in response to the recent Iranian attack, which is expected to target military infrastructure and Iranian energy facilities.

Officials confirmed that "Israel has laid out a plan for the targets it will aim at in response to the Iranian attack," noting that this plan includes targets in military infrastructure and energy facilities.

According to the report, there is no evidence that Israel will target nuclear facilities or carry out assassinations.

However, American officials clarified that Israel has not made a final decision on how and when to act, but the strike could happen at any moment.

In a related context, informed sources told CNN on Saturday that the Iranian government has begun urgent diplomatic efforts with several Middle Eastern countries to assess the possibility of reducing the scope of the Israeli response to the missile attack, and is seeking assistance to protect Tehran in case those efforts fail.

Last Friday, an Israeli official reported that no final decision had been reached by the Israeli security council regarding how to respond to the Iranian attack.

Meanwhile, the United States has been consulting with Israel about its plans to respond to Iran, as American officials expressed their desire that Israel not target Iranian nuclear sites or oil fields.

President Joe Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last Wednesday, assuring him that "Israel's response should be proportional."

Countries in the region are expressing concerns over the escalation of tensions between Israel and Iran, which could lead to the outbreak of a comprehensive regional war.

Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia have also informed the American administration that they do not wish for the United States or Israel to use their military infrastructure or airspace in any offensive operations against Iran.
