Former U.S. President Donald Trump mocked Israeli intelligence for failing to detect the Al-Aqsa Flood operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance, and launched a fierce attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of "letting him down," and described Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant as "foolish."
Donald Trump said, "He will never forget that Israel did not participate in the assassination of Qassem Soleimani and that it needs to enhance its capabilities after failing to anticipate the Hamas attack."
Trump added during a press conference: "When you talk about intelligence or talk about some things that went wrong last week (referring to the Al-Aqsa Flood operation), they (the Israeli intelligence) need to correct it because they are fighting a very, very large force. They are probably fighting Iran."
Trump continued his statements: "When they have people saying wrong things, everything they say is absorbed by those people because they are evil and smart. And my God, how evil they are because no one has ever seen this kind of scene that we saw... They can't play games. They need to strengthen themselves."
The former American president pointed out that the assassination of the commander of the Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani, in 2020, repeating his claim that Netanyahu refused to assist America in the assassination operation.
Trump said, "I will never forget that Bibi Netanyahu let us down. That was something very terrible. We felt a great disappointment, but we accomplished the task ourselves, with absolute precision, and it was a great and beautiful operation. Then Bibi tried to take credit for it."
The Israeli intelligence and the occupying army have faced several criticisms, both internally and externally, for its failure to anticipate the Al-Aqsa Flood operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance last Saturday.
The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz confirmed that Israeli settlers are losing confidence in the army due to its inability to protect them and prevent the Palestinian resistance from breaching.
In his part, Andrew Bates, a spokesperson for the White House, stated today, Thursday, that the statements of the former American president, in which he described Hezbollah as "smart" and criticized the Israeli defense minister, are "dangerous and abnormal."
Bates also added, "It never crosses our minds why any American would praise a terrorist organization supported by Iran and describe it as smart."
At a critical timing, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu removed a photo of him with former U.S. President Donald Trump that he had placed prominently in his account on X, seemingly distancing himself from a political ally facing potential scrutiny.
The photo of Netanyahu sitting next to Trump during a White House meeting had occupied that position on Netanyahu's official account as a symbol of the close relations with the American president.
Another image of Netanyahu receiving the coronavirus vaccine topped his Twitter page with the slogan "Oh citizens of Israel, we will return to life."
Netanyahu kept his picture with Trump even after the latter's defeat in the American elections in November against Democrat Joe Biden.
No explanation has been published on Netanyahu's site for the removal of the Trump picture.
