A number of officials mentioned that the second border bridge between Canada and the United States of America will not be reopened for travel until the fall of next year 2025, which connects Detroit and Canada through the Detroit River.
Officials also reported the construction disturbances witnessed by both the United States of America and Canada related to the period of the Coronavirus spread.
It was scheduled to open the bridge during 2024, but the decision was renewed to open it in September 2025, provided that the bridge surface is completed during the current year 2024.
It is worth mentioning that the project cost is estimated at about 6.4 billion Canadian dollars instead of 5.7 billion Canadian dollars.
Officials stated that Detroit and Windsor Ontario will be connected, and the bridge is considered one of the busiest American-Canadian border bridges, carrying 25% of the total trade between the two countries.
