The Egyptian tent activities will kick off on August 8 and last for four days as part of the Oriental Festival in Montreal, Canada.
The tent is organized by the SPDI Public Services Association for the Integration of Immigrants, and Hossam Moqbel, the director of the association and supervisor of the tent, says that the Oriental Festival is one of the most important cultural festivals held in Montreal, and this is its fourteenth year. It is dedicated to all Eastern countries, where each country sets up a tent to showcase its culture and history.
Moqbel added that organizing the tent was a significant challenge because showcasing Egypt's civilization and history is difficult to confine to any space, no matter how large. However, the motivation was to present a representation worthy of Egypt; there will be scale models of ancient Egyptian civilization, screenings of documentaries and feature films about Egypt and its most influential figures, in addition to various posters that express Egyptian history.
There will also be activities for children, including forming a Pharaoh puzzle and writing names in hieroglyphs on papyrus paper.
