The group "Stop the Iranian Revolutionary Guard" (StopIRGC) has requested the Canadian government to provide information about the Iranian Revolutionary Guard agents and affiliates, based on the decision to "designate the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization" in Canada.

It is worth mentioning that members of "Stop the Revolutionary Guard" are a group of Canadian, American, and Iranian lawyers who launched a campaign against companies and interests affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Canada since the fall of 2022.

The mission of this group is to prevent more members of the Revolutionary Guard from entering Canada, in addition to identifying and notifying judicial authorities about the members of the Revolutionary Guard currently living in Ottawa for their prosecution.

Canada designated the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization on June 20, and prohibited dealings with it.

At that time, journalist and political activist Masih Alinejad stated that at least 700 members of the Revolutionary Guard are currently living in Canada and called for their immediate deportation.

Before designating the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization, the Canadian government imposed sanctions on Tehran regarding the suppression of popular protests in Iran, which led to a ban on the entry of Iranian officials into Canada.

In October 2022, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that his government was taking measures to prevent the entry of high-ranking officials in Iran and about 10,000 Revolutionary Guard members into Canada.

Ottawa cut its diplomatic ties with Tehran in 2012.

Despite this, Canada has been considered for years a primary destination for Iranian immigration, either using immigration laws based on financial status for investment purposes or going based on expertise, education, and work.

Meanwhile, a number of regime workers and elements have gone to Canada on study or investment visas, a movement warned against by Iranians residing in Canada, who called on the authorities in Ottawa to put an end to this flow of Iranian officials into Canadian territory.
