As a result of the severe increase in temperatures this year, a number of diseases have emerged due to the extreme rise, which has affected sleep quality, especially since room temperature can affect sleep quality. It seems that scientists have identified the ideal temperature range that should be achieved in the sleeping environment to ensure good hours of rest.
A new study published in the journal "Science of The Total Environment" concluded that the best temperature for a good night's sleep is between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius.
Researchers studied 50 elderly individuals and analyzed the conditions of several nights of sleep, including temperatures.
They found a decrease of 5 to 10 percent in sleep quality with room temperatures rising above 25 degrees Celsius.
The lead researcher of the study, Amir Bani Saadi, stated: "Individuals who are unable to afford cooling their homes are more at risk of health problems related to lack of sleep."
He added: "Before you go to sleep, make sure to set the temperature to between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius to ensure you have the best night’s sleep ever."
