The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas accepted today, Tuesday afternoon, the credentials of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairy, as an extraordinary and non-resident ambassador to the State of Palestine, and a consul general in the city of Jerusalem.

This came during President Abbas's reception of the Saudi ambassador today, Tuesday, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.

Ambassador Al-Sudairy reviewed the honor guard that lined up to greet him upon his arrival at the presidential headquarters, while the Palestinian and Saudi national anthems were played.

President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed Ambassador Al-Sudairy, praising his important visit to Palestine and his appointment as the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the State of Palestine.

President Abbas stated that this step would contribute to strengthening the strong brotherly relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples.

Following the meeting, the Saudi ambassador conveyed his respect and greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to President Mahmoud Abbas and presented the credentials to President Mahmoud Abbas.

He added that we confirmed the close relationship that binds the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the State of Palestine and, God willing, this visit will be the beginning of enhancing more relations in all fields, emphasizing the steadfast and supportive positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince, toward the Palestinian people and their just cause.

The ceremony for receiving the Saudi ambassador’s credentials was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad Al-Maliki, the President's Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs Majdi Al-Khalidi, and the Commander of the Presidential Guard Major General Munir Al-Za'abi.
