The American website ''Axios'' announced in a report on Sunday, November 19, 2023, that negotiations have resumed to reach an agreement to release dozens of prisoners detained in Gaza, showing "modest" progress after several days of halt.
For his part, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, affirmed that he is confident that an agreement regarding the exchange deal between the occupying entity and Hamas is near.
The American site said that Yehya Al-Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza, remained silent and stopped dealing with Hamas representatives in the Doha talks, after the Israeli occupation army raided Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, which led to the suspension of the talks.
It also added that Al-Sinwar sent a new response to the Qatari mediators indicating a narrowing of some gaps between the two parties, but not enough to reach an agreement.
It is noted that more than 240 people, including many Americans, were kidnapped during the attack launched by Hamas on October 7.
Since then, four hostages have been released, including two Americans, one was rescued, and two others were found dead.
