Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre said that car thieves should not be allowed to serve their sentences "in their living rooms watching Netflix."
Poilievre issued a new policy today insisting that the current Liberal government is lenient with people who steal cars.
He says that a Conservative government will ensure that car thieves serve at least three years in prison if convicted a third time and will ban house arrest for those convicted of crimes punishable by law; the offenses worthy of charges are those considered more serious by prosecutors.
