Ontario County Police are investigating a fatal head-on collision west of Carleton Place.

The Ontario Provincial Police said one person has died after a head-on collision between Carleton Place and Perth, Ontario.

Two cars collided at around 1:45 PM on Highway 7 between Ferguson Falls Road and Tennyson Road, and no details about the victim have been provided.

Police say a stretch of the highway between Drummond Township 9A and Drummond Township 7 is expected to be closed for an extended period of time.
