Montreal Police (SPVM) is investigating a third stabbing incident in less than two days and the second that appears to have been an armed robbery attempt.

SPVM said a 48-year-old man was stabbed in the upper part of his body around 1 a.m. at Girouard Street and Notre-Dame-de-Grace Boulevard West in the Maisonneuve neighborhood.

The police reported that the man may have gotten into a fight with two people, and it is suspected to have been a robbery attempt. The man was not seriously injured, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

This is the second failed robbery attempt in several days, as a 30-year-old man was stabbed and killed in North Montreal on a bike path in what appears to be a robbery attempt.

The police say the victim tried to resist the attacker and was killed in the fight.

A 17-year-old young man was seriously injured on Saturday afternoon after being stabbed
in Pierrefonds during a fight and was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
