The concern is not just anxiety among educational institutions in Canada fearing for the students due to the phenomenon of the total eclipse that the world will witness on April 8, in a rare phenomenon.

Educational districts across eastern Canada have also announced their preparations to cancel classes to protect students during the total eclipse, in a rare event.

Many school boards are carrying out many necessary procedures and arrangements to ensure that students are not present at school during the total solar eclipse, which the world will witness on April 8, or to decide on canceling classes and choosing early dismissal.

Schools indicated that children in the early stages may harm their eyes by looking directly at the sun, and that returning students home is likely more dangerous; amid an atmosphere dominated by darkness in the middle of the afternoon.

This event is expected to last more than two hours during mid or late afternoon.

The Dunlap Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Toronto stated that Canada is expected to witness a total solar eclipse next April, which will be visible throughout central and eastern parts of the country.

It is also expected that on April 8, the eclipse will pass through Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Labrador; where most cities will experience complete darkness during the day for a few minutes.

Astronomers pointed out that a total eclipse can usually be seen once every 18 months, or once every year or two, and for some areas this event is rare and may happen over centuries.

Ilana MacDonald, the outreach coordinator at the Dunlap Institute, mentioned that the total eclipse is one of the things one might witness once in a lifetime, and the last time Canada witnessed a total solar eclipse was in 1979.
