The police are investigating the shooting death of a man on Tuesday in a parking lot at a shopping plaza in Dollard des-Ormeaux in the West Island of Montreal.
The Montreal Police Service (SPVM) said it received several 911 calls shortly before 6 p.m. and responded to the incident near the corner of desBrunswick and Sources Streets, and when police and paramedics arrived, they found a man shot in the upper body, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A source confirmed the victim is 42-year-old Stevens Cantave.
The man's body was on the ground in a parking lot outside several nearby businesses including a movie theater, a gym, and many restaurants.
According to Jeanne Drouin, a police spokesperson, investigators reported that the man was shot while in a car in the parking lot, the suspect or suspects fled the scene before police arrived, and the investigation is ongoing.
