The law firm Slater Vecchio LLP has filed a class-action lawsuit against the plant-based beverage company in Canada, alleging that its products are contaminated with listeria.
The law firm, based in British Columbia and Quebec, which focuses on class-action lawsuits, announced that it is considering a potential lawsuit against Silk and Great Value.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced on July 8, 2024, the recall of 18 different plant-based dairy products due to potential listeria contamination, and the CFIA
had conducted an investigation that is still ongoing, and has already reported an outbreak caused by the sold plant-based milk.
It is worth noting that the CFIA warned that foods contaminated with listeria may not appear spoiled or smell like the product is infected with the bacteria, but they can make you ill, with prominent symptoms including vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and stiff neck.
