The Democratic presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, experienced an embarrassing moment on election day after pretending to make a phone call, only to reveal that her phone was open on the camera app and she was not making any call.
According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail", Harris pretended to talk to a voter on the phone, asking him, "Have you really voted?".
After that, Harris turned her phone towards those present at the location, who applauded and cheered.
However, some observers of the scene noticed that her phone appeared to be open on the camera app, and she was not making any phone call.
One person who noticed what Harris was doing wrote on the platform "X": "Kamala pretended to be talking to a voter on the phone, but accidentally showed that her phone was open on the camera app."
During the live broadcast periods in which Harris appeared, she received several phone calls and told the callers on the line that their vote is "important", and they should make an effort to reach the polls today.
Harris posted on the platform "X" after the first results of the heated presidential race between her and Republican candidate Donald Trump began to emerge.
Harris said via "X" that "voting is the fundamental freedom that opens the door to all other freedoms".
She added: "To the workers in the polling places and the election officials who work tirelessly to ensure that every vote is counted, thank you."
Harris had stated in an earlier post, "If you are still in line when the polls close, stay there because you have the right to cast your vote."
