The United States Geological Survey said today, Wednesday, October 5, 2022, that an earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale occurred in northern Iran near its border with Azerbaijan.
The agency added that the earthquake was 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) east of the Iranian city of Khoy.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre also announced on its website that the earthquake measured 5.4 and occurred in the northwest region of Iran at a depth of 10 kilometers.
