The International Organization for Migration revealed the number of Libyans displaced from the city of Derna, due to the Libya flood, which resulted in thousands of deaths and the loss and displacement of tens of thousands, after the heavy rains that struck the eastern shores of Libya following Storm Daniel, which caused the collapse of two dams in the devastated city.

The International Organization for Migration stated in a report today, Thursday, that more than 43,000 people have been displaced due to the Libya flood, particularly from the northeastern region of Libya. It also noted that rescue teams and volunteers are still continuing their efforts to search for potential survivors in the city of Derna and to retrieve the bodies of the flood victims.

Earlier this week, the Libyan Red Crescent announced the continuation of relief efforts in the city of Derna, through volunteer teams, to rescue and support the victims of the Libya flood, affirming that they are putting in their utmost effort around the clock in all areas affected by Storm Daniel, which hit eastern Libya.
