Four explosions that occurred on Saturday night to Sunday in the city of Smara in the Moroccan Sahara resulted in one death and three injuries.
The official Moroccan news agency reported that the injuries of two of the injured were described as serious.
The official agency quoted local authorities in the Smara region that the explosions hit the Lazab neighborhood, the Salam neighborhood, and the industrial district (two explosions).
It also added that those with serious injuries received first aid before being transported to the hospital in Laayoune in the Moroccan Sahara.
It said that the third person, who sustained minor injuries, was able to return home after receiving first aid on site.
The agency also indicated that property damage was recorded at two homes.
The local authorities, security services, and civil protection immediately headed to the site of the explosions upon being notified.
