The increase in home sales in Montreal is 6.4 percent

The professional association of real estate brokers in Quebec said that home sales in the Montreal area increased by 6.4 percent in June compared to the same month last year.

It added that total home sales in the area reached 3,830 for this month, up from 3,598 in June 2023.

The average price for all types of properties also rose on a yearly basis.

The average price of a single-family home increased by 5.8 percent to reach $582,500, while the average price of a residential condo rose by 2.8 percent to reach $401,000.

Active listings of properties for sale jumped by 24.4 percent compared to the previous year to reach 18,620.

New listings increased by 7.6 percent to 5,446.
