A man was found dead after being shot multiple times in a Brampton park late Monday night.
Police responded to a call about a shooting around 10:30 p.m., near Balmoral Trail and Bovaird Drive, but no victims were found there.
About 45 minutes later, they were called to the intersection of Heart Lake and Copperfield Drive to report a person driving erratically in a residential area, an extension of White Spruce Park.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the victim outside the car, shot. He later died at the scene. It is not yet known whether the victim was the driver or the passenger.
Police say the two incidents are related, but it is unclear whether the victim was shot at the first location or in or near the park. They believe it is a separate incident and there is no threat to public safety.
So far, no additional suspect information has been disclosed by the police.
This is the eleventh murder in the Peel region for 2022.
