A video circulating on social media shows the moment an Israeli soldier was captured by Palestinian militants on Saturday.

The video shows a number of Palestinian militants escorting an Israeli soldier with her hands bound into an SUV, and it appeared from the short clip that they were preparing to transfer her to another location.

Local reports indicated that the captured soldier was taken to Gaza, noting that she belongs to "Battalion 869."

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, reported on Sunday that they had shelled sites in Ashkelon with 100 rockets.

Video clips on social media showed the shelling carried out by the Al-Qassam Brigades.

The Al-Qassam Brigades' shelling of Ashkelon came after the Palestinian news agency reported that several Palestinians had been injured with varying degrees of wounds due to a series of airstrikes carried out by Israeli planes on a number of buildings and sites in the Gaza Strip.

According to the agency, the Israeli air force struck a building in the Al-Rimal neighborhood west of Gaza City with two rockets, leveling it to the ground, which resulted in injuries among civilians.

A Long and Difficult War

Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Sunday that the security cabinet approved decisions to destroy the military capabilities of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad.

Netanyahu emphasized that Israel is "facing a long and difficult war. The war has been imposed on us as a result of a deadly attack by Hamas."

He added: "The first phase is ending in these hours with the destruction of most of the enemy forces that infiltrated our lands."

He continued: "At the same time, we have begun the offensive formation and it will continue unabated and without rest until the objectives are achieved."

He concluded by saying: "We will restore security to the citizens of Israel and we will win."
