Hamas said today, Wednesday, that it has informed the mediators of its refusal to negotiate while the Israeli operation continues in Rafah in southern Gaza.

Ghazi Hamad, a member of Hamas's political bureau, explained in an interview with Al Arabiya television that the movement has not received any new proposals for returning to negotiations.

This comes after sources stated that Israel presented a written and updated official proposal for a potential agreement to release the prisoners held in Gaza to Egypt, Qatar, and the United States last Monday, which could lead to a temporary ceasefire.

Hamad added that Israel is heading towards genocide, not negotiations, emphasizing that "Israel must stop the Rafah operation before any negotiations."

The Hamas political bureau member pointed out that Israel is moving in the opposite direction of the negotiation process and is not serious about a ceasefire.

He confirmed: "We want a text that guarantees Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, and we will agree to it."
