The head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, and a delegation from the movement's leadership met today, Monday, with the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziad al-Nakhalah, and his deputy, Muhammad Hindi, during their current visit to Doha.

A statement issued by Hamas indicated that the meeting discussed the overall political and field developments, especially those related to the aggressive war waged by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip.

The two delegations affirmed the unity of the Palestinian resistance in the field and politics to achieve the goals of the Palestinian people at the interim and strategic levels, and praised the unity of the resistance front and the support arenas in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq.

The attendees reflected on the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their sacrifices despite the brutal massacres perpetrated by the occupation and the genocide it is waging against the Gaza Strip, the latest of which was the massacre in the al-Nuseirat camp two days ago.

The two delegations commended the performance of the resistance, its steadfastness, and its ability to defend the Palestinians and confront the aggression of the occupation, delivering successive blows to it and thwarting its political and military objectives in its war on the sector.

The delegations discussed the developments of the indirect negotiations and the efforts being made to stop the war, emphasizing that any agreement must include a permanent cessation of the aggression, a complete withdrawal from the sector, reconstruction, an end to the blockade, and a serious exchange deal.

The attendees also reviewed the conditions of the prisoners in the occupation prisons, the crimes of the occupation in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and the necessity of putting an end to these crimes and the racism practiced by the occupation.
