Egypt's ambassador to Canada reviews the investment climate and opportunities in Egypt with the chairman of the Canadian Business Council.

Ambassador Ahmed Hafez, Egypt's Ambassador to Canada, met with Goldie Haider, President and CEO of the Canadian Business Council, where the meeting discussed the council's activities, which includes heads of major leading companies and entrepreneurs in Canada; these companies collectively contribute around fifty percent of Canada's private sector gross domestic product.

Both sides discussed the economic situation and the business climate across Canada, as well as the role of the council and its members from major private commercial entities in Canada, especially in light of global economic challenges and the importance of finding mutually beneficial economic opportunities in all fields.

Ambassador Hafez explained the resilience, strength, and flexibility of the Egyptian economy despite facing successive global crises and other challenges on many fronts, with steady steps aimed at continuing work to achieve sustainable economic growth that enhances the role of the private sector as a key engine for economic growth and development.

The Egyptian ambassador presented the continuous expansion in the energy sector in Egypt while utilizing and creating new, renewable, and clean energy sources, and continued work to improve the efficiency of many activities in the fields of industry, agricultural productivity, as well as in telecommunications and information technology, along with other major Egyptian projects.

The Egyptian ambassador also reviewed the most important aspects of the investment climate and incentives to engage in various economic fields in Egypt, along with an explanation of promising investment and business opportunities in Egypt, and ways to work closely through the Canadian Business Council to enhance cooperation for the benefit of the business communities in both countries.
