5.1 magnitude earthquake strikes the coasts of Japan

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 off the coast of Japan.

The earthquake's epicenter is located 190 kilometers southeast of the city of Hachinohe (Honshu Island), which is home to about 239,000 people.

The earthquake's focus is at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to bbc

No reports of a tsunami threat have been received
