Local media reported that former Chilean President Sebastián Piñera died in a helicopter crash today, Tuesday, in the south of the country.
Local media cited government sources saying that four people were traveling on the helicopter when it crashed, and that three were "found by first responders."
Sinapred, the Chilean National Disaster Agency, confirmed that a helicopter crash occurred in the southern town of Lago Ranco and that one person was killed and three were injured.
The government did not immediately mention who was on board the aircraft.
