There are more service reductions in the O-Train service on the way, and members of the Ottawa City Council are not satisfied.

Riley Brokington, River Ward Councillor, said: "We have a wave of passengers coming in September. Why are we making such changes to their routes weeks in advance?"

He stated that starting from August 26, trains on the Confederation Line will arrive every 10 minutes instead of five during peak hours on weekdays from 9 AM to 3 PM and again from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

He noted that there are more reductions to the O-Train service on the way and members of the Ottawa City Council are not satisfied.

Riley Brokington, River Ward Councillor, said: "We have a tsunami wave of passengers coming in September. Why are we making these changes to their routes weeks in advance?"

Johnson said: "Seeing a reduction in service does not give passengers confidence in this system."

She added: "Not only is the reduction in service concerning to me, but it is also the way we provide this type of information to the public."

The adjustment is being made in an attempt to cut costs, according to Scrimgeour, who added that the number of passengers is not as high as the budget set in the winter expected.

He said we are suffering a shortfall of about $6 million in the first half of the year. We can see that the number of passengers is still low on the train, and this was a choice to save some money as we enter this fall, to achieve these savings in this calendar year."
