The Central Bank of Sudan announced today, Sunday, the regularity of work in most of its branches in the states, reassuring depositors that the reported looting operations at some commercial branches do not affect their deposits.
The Central Bank of Sudan said in a statement that "work has been regular in most of its branches in the states," adding that "the branches of commercial banks in those states have started providing their banking services, including cash withdrawal and deposit services."
It revealed a "partial and limited fire in its Khartoum branch three days ago."
The Central Bank of Sudan said that "it has been controlled, causing damage to the external cladding of the building, and no major damage was recorded."
The Central Bank reassured depositors and bank account holders that their money in the banking system is safe, stressing that the reported looting or theft operations at some commercial bank branches do not affect the public's deposits with those banks.
The Central Bank of Sudan indicated that it is making continuous efforts to return all banking services to normal across Sudan to enable citizens to conduct their banking transactions through various payment methods, including electronic payment services such as mobile phone applications, point of sale, and electronic clearing, wishing for peace and security to prevail throughout the country.
