Trick-or-treaters or party-goers in the capital may want to consider wearing beach-themed costumes for their Thursday night / Halloween outings.
The latest forecasts from Environment Canada indicate that temperatures could reach around 23 degrees Celsius, which would be a record for Halloween.
While Ottawa's weather is never stable, Jeff Coulson, warning preparedness meteorologist at Environment Canada, says that most signs indicate that the daytime high will exceed the previous record of 22.2 degrees Celsius set in 1942.
There is also a good chance that the expected high temperature on Wednesday of 21 degrees Celsius will break the record for this date of 20.8 degrees Celsius, which was recorded in 1989.
Coulson noted that there is a 70 percent chance of rain on Thursday night, although he believes the rainfall will begin later in the evening, after most trick-or-treaters have returned home.
Scary weather may come on Friday to welcome November, with daytime maximum temperatures expected to reach 12 degrees. The expected rise on Saturday to 6 degrees Celsius resembles the usual climate in Ottawa.
