The Canadian team deprived their American counterpart of winning the gold medal in the men's 4 × 100 meters relay race at the World Athletics Championships held in Eugene, USA, while the British team won the bronze medal.
Olympic champion Andre De Grasse, who withdrew from the 200 meters race in Eugene due to his recent coronavirus infection, managed to stop American Marvin Bracy, allowing Canada to win the gold medal in the men's 4 × 100 meters relay with a time of 37.48 seconds.
The American team, which was the favorite to win the gold medal, finished the race in second place, 0.07 seconds behind, while the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team came third and won the bronze medal after finishing the race in 34.83 seconds.
