America: Three killed and 9 injured in shootings in Arizona and Kentucky

Agencies: The US police announced on Sunday the killing of two people and the injury of 5 others in a shooting during a gathering of residents in a neighborhood in Arizona, and the killing of one person and injury of 4 others in a shooting in Kentucky.

The spokesperson for Yuma City Police, Sergeant Lori Franklin, said the shooting occurred before eleven o'clock Saturday night in the city located in the southwest of the country, and mentioned that investigations are ongoing but no suspects have been arrested. The motive behind the incident was not immediately clear, but Lori said there is no longer any threat to the gathering.

She indicated that police officers headed to the gathering after reports of a violent attack. Upon arrival, they found 7 people injured by gunfire.

Lori also mentioned that two men aged 19 and 20 were declared dead in Yuma hospitals, a 16-year-old boy was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital with serious injuries, while 4 boys aged between 15-19 are receiving treatment at the Yuma Regional Medical Center from wounds not believed to be life-threatening, and the names of the deceased and injured were not announced immediately on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Louisville Metro Police Department, Alicia Smiley, said in a press statement that police were called to the shooting scene at eleven o'clock on Saturday night.

She explained that two men and two women were found injured at one site, and they were taken to the hospital, noting that one of the men was in critical condition while the condition of the other three was stable. The spokesperson mentioned that another man was found shot at close range and was also transported to the hospital where he died.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s office identified him as Demontay Jaquan Terrek Marshall, aged 22, no arrests were reported while homicide investigators continue to investigate the incident.

Alicia Smiley stated that the shooting erupted due to a dispute within a company overlooking the street. The type of company involved was not specified, and the coroner’s office provided an address matching a pizza and pasta restaurant.
