The authorities confirmed the deaths of three people after a small plane crashed in Chilliwack, British Columbia, on Friday afternoon.
The plane went down in a forested area near the Chilliwack Motor Inn, located about one kilometer from the local Chilliwack airport.
Photos from the scene showed a heavy presence of paramedics at the site, with the plane's tail visible upright behind thick foliage.
The plane is registered to a company called SkyQuest Aviation Ltd., which is a flight school operating out of Langley Regional Airport. The company declined to comment when contacted by CTV News on Friday.
According to the Canadian civil aircraft registry, the plane in question is a Piper PA34. It was registered in 2019 and built in 1972.
No names of the victims have been released.
Police also stated that no other injuries were reported and that there is no ongoing risk to the public at the crash site.
The authorities have not released any details regarding the cause of the crash, while the Transportation Safety Board stated that a team of investigators has been dispatched to gather information and assess what occurred.
