The provincial government announced on Thursday that Saskatchewan is switching to monthly COVID-19 reports this summer.

The final weekly report will be issued on June 30. After that, the first monthly report for three weeks will be issued on July 21, with information from June 26 to July 16.

The first monthly report will be issued on August 18 for the period from July 17 to August 13.

The government said the Ministry of Health and other partners will continue to monitor COVID-19, but the reporting frequency can be adjusted again in the future.

Dr. Saqib Shehab, the province's Chief Medical Health Officer, said in a press release, “We will continue to ensure people have access to information on a monthly basis, through detailed public health analysis, and more frequent reports if concerning trends emerge.”

The epidemiological report will continue to be issued at 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays monthly and will be accessible on the government’s website.

Shehab suggests that residents of Saskatchewan continue to conduct their personal risk assessment during the summer.

He said, “They should continue to consider mask use and improving ventilation,” and Shehab encouraged everyone to stay informed about any COVID-19 booster doses they are eligible for.
