Quebec announced on Thursday that 20 additional deaths were attributed to COVID-19, bringing the total number to 16,717 cases.
The number of patients hospitalized due to COVID-19 in the province increased by nine to 1,549 patients.
Among these patients, there are 36 patients in intensive care, a decrease of one patient.
The province reported that 929 additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed through PCR testing at its clinics. However, since this testing method is not available to most residents of Quebec, the case numbers do not represent the situation in the province.
