A couple from Canada transformed an old school bus into their dream home on a budget, in response to the cost of living crisis and challenges in the current housing market.
According to the British newspaper "Mirror," the couple was laid off during the COVID pandemic, so they decided to wisely use their resources to create a comfortable living space.
The project, which took the couple about two years to complete, cost $25,000, including $10,000 for solar panels that power the home.
Despite their lack of previous hands-on experience, the couple relied on YouTube and some friends for help with the implementation.
The wife said, "We hadn't built anything in our lives, and we also didn't have the money; we mostly relied on YouTube videos, and we had some friends with similar experience to help us."
Details of the Dream Mobile Home
The home features a comfortable living space that includes a spacious kitchen, a sitting area equipped with a television, along with a bedroom that has a large bed, in addition to an outdoor shower heated by gas, instead of an outdoor tub to avoid freezing water during winter in Canada.
The renovated school bus has impressed social media users, who described it as amazing and stunning.
Despite the challenges, the couple said they feel satisfied with their decision, expressing their desire to explore new places in the world with their new home.
